Oh my dear God! If you thought what could beat the rock bottom Nikamma and Heropanti 2 have touched in the past couple of months, my dear friend, we just discovered the rock bottom is deeper down and Om (with a heavy prefix) will navigate us to it. I didn’t have an option but to go, but you can save yourself.

What lacks in yet another Bollywood offering is the heart. Even with a ton of money pumped in, perfectly choreographed and shot fight sequences, a twisty enough plot to keep you invested, a father-son trope immortalised by the likes of Shakti (1982, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dilip Kumar), and some exaggeration, err, creative liberty, kuch toh missing hai in Rashtra Kavach Om. You just can’t put your finger on it.

‘Rashtra Kavach: Om’ has many problems. Among some, it is poorly written. The narrative and the screenplay is disjointed, the background score repetitive and generic, and action-sequences( which should have saved the film) poorly directed and choreographed.

Rashtra Kavach Om is a bad movie, period. The film’s writing is all over the place. There are logicless scenes penned. An example of this is a bullet has been lodged in Om’s brain and the doctor says that he is a walking miracle for, despite the bullet, he is able to remember at least one chapter of his life. When asked about his fighting ability, the doctor simply says that he continues to have his ‘muscle memory’ so he can still fight.
